Johnny didn't have any classes till Thursday which meant he could totally take advantage of his free time.
So, sitting behind the cheap set of drums he purchased, he was banging away, actually sounding pretty good. And when he really got into it, he lit the drumsticks Reed made for him, on fire, and wasn't that so freaking awesome! Chad would be proud of his progress, Johnny thought.
The door was wide open.
[So is the post!]

Her throw was a little better this time, as if the first one had warmed her up, but this book was a bit smaller, perhaps that helped.
If this didn't work, she considered throwing the rabbit next. And she certainly hoped she could get her books back.

Take that Adah. You'll have to ask nicely.

Date: 2008-07-07 05:40 pm (UTC)Sure enough, her suspicions were confirmed and another song started up. She reached again her for Post-Its, and tossed away another book, the only things she had with enough heft to actually get anywhere.
"In some African tribes, as is well known, drums are used to commutate messages over long distances. But sometimes, the drums are meant to communicate something deeper, something more visceral. They drive down into the very consciousness, often inspiring a sort of psychosis, driving an individual or a group to moments of temporary insanity, usually expressed in violently unrestrained massacres and bloodshed. --dr. trb, ph.d."

Date: 2008-07-07 05:53 pm (UTC)Bang bang beat beat bang bang bang... rat tat tat TAT! Beat bang tap tap tap, went his sticks upon his drums. Johnny was awesome.
But another damn book slowed his progress once more and he stopped, stood up, tossed his drumsticks to the floor and grabbed up all of her books, barely scanning over the last note, quote, whatthehellever 'cause he didn't get it anyway, and made his way across the hall.
"What the hell, Adah? What. The. Hell?"

Date: 2008-07-07 06:08 pm (UTC)Now if only he'd have the common decency to be more considerate of the other people on his floor.
"You could have at least," she said quietly, "closed the door."

Date: 2008-07-07 06:21 pm (UTC)"...and your first Post-It note couldn't have said that very thing?" He barely glanced at her bunny, thinking Destiny would love to have a chance to chase it. He also took a split second to wonder how in the hell Adah could sit like that. But girls and their flexibility...

Date: 2008-07-07 06:46 pm (UTC)He did get that smile of hers and figured she did nothing more than amuse herself at his expense. He shook his finger at her, lighting the tips just to amuse himself. "Funny girl. Ha ha. Your books," he said, stepping in and setting them down on the floor beside her. "I imgaine those words within won't mean much if their burnt to a crisp."

Date: 2008-07-07 06:57 pm (UTC)So long as he closed the door, she would close hers as well, the sound would be muted, and she'd had gotten what she'd wanted out of him and it could be let alone.

Date: 2008-07-07 07:05 pm (UTC)Staring at his open door, he grinned and beat on his drums for five seconds before he laughed and tossed a ball at it, knocking it closed.
