Johnny was at work, sitting behind the counter and staring down at his shoes. He was being contemplative this morning. Contemplating on various subjects of importance. Which was odd for him. Still, there he was.

The shop was quiet and it was open.

Savannah, of course, brought him his usual coffee.

He looked up when the door opened and smiled, moving towards the counter to lean his elbows on top. "Hey, baby."

Savannah smiled at him. "Hey, sweetheart."

"Did you bring your morning cheer with you?" he asked.

"I always have that." She gave him a concerned look. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, why?" He was surprised she was learning him so well. Nothing was really wrong, per se, but his mind was preoccupied.

She ran her fingertips gently over one of his cheeks. "You have deep thoughts face."

She was a witch and sorcerer who had been forced to learn to read people. She learned how to do it quickly when it concerned people she cared a great deal about... so she was learning how to read him.

He smiled slightly. "Thinking about Ronan," he admitted honestly.

"I'm sorry," she said quietly. "He seems like a good guy and..." She bit her lip. "Couldn't have been easy for you to tell him."

"It was all right, actually. But yeah, he's a great guy. Hate to think that I messed with him, you know?" And he wasn't talking dirty. He was talking emotion wise and he knew Savannah would get that. "Don't be sorry, sweetheart. I wouldn't change anything."

Savannah did get it and she understood.

"I'm glad. I wouldn't change it, either." She looked at him. "Are you two going to be able to be friends?"

She hoped so. Ronan seemed like a nice guy and he had been very caring that night on the beach.

Johnny grinned a bit. "Yeah, I think we are. I don't see it being a problem at all."

She smiled at him. "I'm glad."

"What are you doing this evening?" he asked her, taking one of her hands and playing with her fingers.

Savannah shook her head, smiling as he played with her fingers. "I have no plans."

"Funny, me neither." he said, looking down at the smallness of her hands compared to his. "We could... go skinny dipping?" he offered, giving her a sneaky lil grin.

Savannah's eyes widened.

"Johnny? Could you let me enjoy having you as my boyfriend for a little while before Eve murders you?"

She was smiling through the blush.

"She likes me. Deep down? She really likes me," he said, smirking.

"So, is that a no?"

"She's not going to believe me when I tell her we're exclusive." She laughed. "She likes you as long as she thinks my heart won't get broken... and that you don't see me nakjed too soon."

She didn't think she should tell him the why on that.

"Can we put that on the calendar for something I might like to try with you... sometime in the future?"

Johnny twisted his lips. "Like how soon is too soon? Cause I'm kind of thinking you know, I'm good with today." Yeah, he was teasing her. What? She was totally teasable.

"...and I'm not going to break your heart, sweetie."

Savannah laughed softly, blushing again, as she leaned forward and kissed him.

"Too bad my birthday is so far away, because that could be fun."

She ducked her head, shaking it. "I'm not worried about that, Johnny."

"When is your birthday?" Yep, he might sound excited.

"Good. And I'm not worried either. Just so you know."

Didn't mean he still didn't think about Chris.

Dammit.

Savannah smiled teasingly at him. "October 8th."

She ran her hand along his face again. "I won't. I care about you too much."

Just because she didn't say certain words didn't mean she didn't have the feelings.

"October eigth? Maaaan, that's like forever from now." He whined.

But her words melted his heart and he smiled at her, leaning over and kissing her mouth firmly. "And I you, baby."

Savannah kissed him back, holding his hand, still.

"So are you sure you got your birthday date right?" he asked after pulling back slightly from her.

She laughed. "Johnny!"

"What?" He said, eyebrows raised.

She kissed his nose. "Sorry, but my birthday isn't until October."

"Well you know, I won't tell Eve if I happen to see you prancing around in your room, semi-naked."

Savannah laughed. "Well, she didn't kill you when I was sitting there in jeans and a sports bra..."

He fondly remembered. "She doesn't just like walk in does she... unannounced? What if I'm like standing around naked or something?"

"She always knocks first."

"That's good. My naked body is only for your eyes." Johnny had not an ounce of modesty.

"I am really glad you feel that way."

Okay, Johnny needed to get off this naked kick because he was going to pounce on her any second if he didn't.

"You going to cheer practice today?"

Savannah nodded. "That's pretty much the only plans I have for today."

"I'm going home after work. I'm going to laze around and do absolutely nothing. I might be naked when you come home so just don't mind me." He looked down, grinning.

Savannah turned bright red when she imagined that.

"You're incorrigible," she whispered.

"I think I'm on a naked kick; save me."

Savannah reached over and grabbed his shirt, pulling him to her so she could kiss him.

Oh god, and that so did not help. Johnny grabbed the back of her head and threaded his fingers through her hair, kissing her deeply.

Savannah made a soft sound in her throat and then pulled back to look in his face.

"If we don't stop... your next customer might enmd up getting a surprise when they walk in and find us making out..." Her breathing was not exactly steady.

Neither was his and he warned her, his eyes on hers, "Then you better go, because if you don't, I'm taking you to the back room and I can't promise I would behave myself."

She swallowed, nodding as she forced herself to step back from his embrace.

"I love that you watch out for me like this," she kissed him quickly and left ... before she changed her mind.

A nice cold swim in the ocean might be a good idea in her mind.

Johnny ran a hand over his face and sighed deeply. Man, he wanted his girlfriend.
