Rm 217, Tuesday, early evening

Johnny was sprawled out on Savannah's bed reading a current issue of motorcross. Thankfully his tongue fell from the roof of his mouth sometime during the night and he was able to eat breakfast and lunch today. Actually he ate two cheeseburgers in the cafeteria and tomorrow he'd hit the gym.

For now he was chillin' with one of his favorite magazines, listening to a lady cook something or other on TV. Yeah, life was pretty okay right now.

He just wondered where Savannah was.

"What did you even go see her for, sweetheart? I'm good. I wasn't hurt or anything...why did you have to go see her?" Johnny cursed low and foul as she tried to take her shirt off. "You need to go to the clinic."

Savannah turned pale and her pupils were wide. "No. No clinic. Don't try and take me there, Johnny. Don't." She managed to get the shirt off. "Mom. Mom knows a strong healing spell that will ease the pain. Nothing in my head, neck or shoulder is broken. It just hurts and will be bruised as hell."

She didn't answer the why she had gone question.

Shit. He forgot how she acted before when he had mentioned the clinic and seeing her now, distressed, pissed him off. He wondered what the hell had happened to her before to make her feel that way. "Calm down, it's okay. No clinic, but you will call your mom or I will and she will take care of this."

He knew she didn't answer him and he reached out, running his hands down her arms, turning her so that he could look at her back. "Why did you go, Savannah?"

"I wanted to make her stop messing with you, Johnny. I didn't think she'd actually hurt me and get physical with a spell that threw me into the hall and the wall outside her office." She took in a breath. "Will you... can you call her?"

He shook his head as his fingers moved lightly down her back. "You promise me right now you won't go back to see her. I want to hear you tell me that, Savannah." Johnny was going to seriously hurt that woman. "I'll call her." He reached over for his cell and pushed a button. He had Eve on quick dial and quickly he left her a message.

"You... you want me to make a promise that both you and I do not know if I can keep, Johnny. I don't want to end up lying to you... because if she hurts you... I don't know if I can keep that kind of promise." She searched his face.

He took her face between his hands and caressed his thumbs back over her cheeks. "Listen to me, you let me take care of her. I know you are strong, I know you're beliefs are strong, but dammit Savannah, I don't need you hurt. I don't want you hurt. It just pisses me off because there is not a damn thing I can do about it after its been done."

Savannah murmured something and looked into his face as he spoke. "I don't want you hurt, either, Johnny," she said quietly. "She's evil and she's mean and if she were to really harm you..." She looked down.

"Hey," he said, ducking his head a bit so he could look at her face. "Nothing is going to happen to me. I promise. I'm... I'm here for you, Savannah."

She met his eyes and placed a hand on his face. "I want you safe. I need you to be safe."

He tilted his head and asked her softly, "What is happening here, between us?"

She swallowed and then looked at him again. "I'm not sure... almost afraid to put things into words about it. Last time I tried to, I was convinced I was close to messing things up."

She still wasn't sure how much of what he said over the weekend was what he meant or had wanted to say.

Johnny took her hands and sat down on the edge of her bed, bringing her with him to sit down at his side, though he was careful of how she felt physically.

"Just say it, Savannah, say what you feel. Please."

"I shouldn't say it out loud because it could cost me my heart... but I really... I... care deeply and strongly about you, Johnny. I know I shouldn't because it's not what you... but I cannot help how I feel."

He smiled slowly and intertwined his fingers with hers. "Savannah, it is what I want. I want you to care deeply for me because I... I care deeply for you."

Her eyes widened and she searched his eyes, squeezing his hand. "You do? Really?"

"I do, very much." This was hard for him and showing emotions like this just wasn't the norm. His heart was beating way too fast. "Savannah, I want... Do you want to go out with me?"

She swallowed. "Are you... are you asking me what I think you're asking me, Johnny? Because, I want to make sure we're on the same page..." She ran her fingers along his cheek.

He nodded. "I want you to be my girlfriend, Savannah. Just you."

Savannah watched his face and then nodded. "Just me? Then... yes, I want to."

His eyes moved over her face; god, she was so beautiful, so sweet. He wanted her to know how he felt for her, that he was serious and not just messing around here with emotions.

"Savannah, I don't want anyone else. I don't want to play around anymore. I want you for myself, exclusively and I... I need to know that this is want you want too because I won't share you. With anyone." Yes, Johnny was jealous but not obsessive about it. Still, he wanted her to understand what he was saying.

"I don't want to share, either," she said softly. "I do want you... want this..." She gave a small smile. "I'm not good with hiding jealousy, but I try..."

Johnny returned her smile and leaned towards her, his hand cupping her cheek as he bent to kiss her mouth, murmuring against her lips, "Don't hide anything from me, sweetheart..."

Oh, that was a tall order as she realized there was some things she needed to tell him.

"No hiding," she agreed.

Pulling back, Johnny smiled at her, feeling relieved, actually feeling pretty great. But he did have some concerns. "What about Chris?"
