Basilisk B2 Alcove - Sunday night

Johnny was in his alcove, music going as he started packing up his stuff. He didn't have a whole lot to pack since he didn't really unpack everything when he first arrived. What? He was a guy, not like it mattered where his stuff went anyway.

After he tossed a few things into a bag, he fell back on his bed with his laptop, logging in to Transworld Motocross to see what was happening. It'd been a great day, what with Flag Foot ball and all, so now he was just chillin'.

Haku knocked softly on the doorframe to Johnny's alcove. "Hi," he said sheepishly. "May I come in?"

"Hey, Haku," Johnny said, looking over. "And you bet, just make yourself comfy anywhere." Course that would be the bed since it was the only place really to sit. He scooted over, giving her room.

Since they were all going back to the dorms tomorrow Haku thought it would be a good idea to get some things straight.

"Thanks," Haku smiled and sat at the end of the bed and glanced over at Johnny. "Johnny, how would you describe me?"

Johnny was taken aback at the question and he sat up a bit more, giving her his undivided attention. "You mean...physically?"

"However," Haku shrugged.

God Johnny was going to hate him after this.

If Johnny thought this was a little strange, he didn't let on.

"I think you're pretty, Haku. Very much so. And you're nice, friendly..." And he just wondered why he had never tried to ask her out. Maybe he should rectify that tonight.

Well, that made what he was going to say fly right out of his head.

Haku blushed deeply and looked at Johnny a little shocked. "Pretty? Oh... uhh."

Man, this just wasn't fair!

"Well, yeah. You have a perfect face..." Had no one ever told Haku that she was pretty before?

"Um, this is not what you are wanting to hear?" He sort of gathered by her blush and the shocking expression that had settled over her face.

Haku winced slightly, hanging his head. "No, it's not that. It just doesn't make saying this any easier."

Oookay, Johnny might be getting a little worried here. He scooted down the bed next to Haku and attempted to put his arm around her shoudlers, "It's okay, really. I don't know what's going on or anything, but you know, I'm here if you need me."

Haku took a deep breath, tensing as Johnny put an arm around him. "Johnny, you're a really great guy, nice, good looking. I've never met anyone like you before."

He paused and looked over. "But I don't want you getting any more of a wrong idea about me than you already have." Haku paused again. "Johnny, I'm a boy."

He was smiling as she described him, he liked that. He liked that she liked him. Pretty cool.

Her next words sort of made his smile fall because he was growing more worried here about what the heck she was going to say.

Then, when she, no HE, finally said what he had come to say, Johnny jumped up off the bed and flailed. "What?! What do you mean you're a boy? You don't look like a boy! You can't be a boy! You're just kidding me right? Oh my god! You let me flirt with you! Come on! Come on!" Ahhhh, maaaan!

Right, this was just the reaction he hadn't wanted to happen and after talking with Katara the other night, he had the hopes that it wouldn't.

Haku took a deep breath and closed his eyes, to keep from looking upset, slowly standing. "I wanted you to know the truth and I'm sorry if you think that I deceived you."

Just give him a moment here. Really. He needed a moment to collect his thoughts and just think about what was going on. What Haku said. When he did this, it slowly dawned on him that he just assumed Haku was a girl. Which granted, Haku never corrected, still...it...was it Johnny's fault?

Taking a deep breath, Johnny stared at Haku a good long minute before he said, "I don't think you wittingly deceived me, and it didn't help that I just naturally assumed." He ran his hand back through his hair. "It's not your fault, Haku. I just didn't think to ask if you were a boy or a girl." Not exactly a normal question to ask someone either.

Haku paused as he was going to jsut leave. He looked over at Johnny with a sheepish smile and shook his head.

"I really should have said something. I've gotten into the habit of not saying anything unless someone outright calls me a girl," he shrugged. "It always just gave me an advantage in fighting."

"I...can understand that." And Johnny stared at her, him, in a totally different way now. Though, truth be told, he was still very...well, pretty just wasn't the right word.

"I'm sorry, for the way I acted. I was just totally taken by surprise."

"And I'm sorry that I didn't say anything sooner," he smiled and held out his hand. "Still friends?"

Johnny reached out and shook his hand, "Friends."

"Good," Haku smiled brightly. "I'm glad this was able to be cleared up before we all went to the dorms."
