Room 217, Wednesday night

Johnny was going home tonight and wouldn't be back until Sunday sometime. He... really needed to tell Savannah.

After work, he came back and showered and waited around to do just that, though he wasn't much looking forward to it. He loved her and didn't want her upset with him. Still, he was going flying with Reed and Ben and there was just no quelling that excitment.

He should have bought her flowers. That might soften the news a bit.

Savannah came into the room later, carrying Destiny. When she saw Johnny, she gave him an awed smile.

"My painting... the sketch of you... it's on display at the gallery."

He grinned. "I know."

Savannah was in his arms in an instant. "You're amazing, you know that?"

"No, not really. Your art is amazing. I didn't go to the exhibit; I was a little iffy about what you might have thought."

"What you did was very sweet, Johnny. I never would have..."

He pulled her closer as he moved to settle back on the bed, getting comfy. "You should be proud of yourself. I know I am and I wanted everyone to see it." He kissed the top of her head.

"Sweetheart? I need to talk to you about something."

She curled close to him. "What's wrong, love?"

"Nothing, sweetheart, I promise you. Just... I'm headed home for a visit."

She gave him a small smile. "Sue misses you."

Johnny could let her believe that, and even if it was true, it wasn't the case this time. "Probably, but I'm headed home because I want to go."

She smiled and nodded against him. "Gotta get out of here for a few days? I get that. I'll miss you."

"You're not upset with me?" he asked, surprised.

She looked up at him. "Upset that you're leaving, yes. But not upset with you, love... not unless you're leaving because of something I did."

"No, of course not," he said, rubbing a hand down her back. "I'm going to catch up on some flying with Ben and Reed; I've really missed it."

She laughed. "And you thought I was going to be upset about it?" She nuzzled him. "I know you love flying. However, when you get back you have to teach me to ride my bike, okay? It finally came in."

Boy had that argument with Benecio been fun... not.
