Rm 217, Friday morning

Johnny had on his motorcycle gear. He was getting ready to head out, check out Madagascar and just... get the hell away from the dorms and his room.

Maybe he would call Sue, see what was up this next week. He just might head home.

[Expecting one.]

Too late. He was awake, dressed, and ready to head out.

He slipped off his helmet and stared at her.

She stared back at him for a moment.

"Sorry," she said. "I thought I'd have her dropped off and be gone before you were awake."

"S'no problem," he stated. "Was just headed out. Stick around if you want."

She shook her head. If she stayed, she would probably curl up on the bed. That would lead to sleeping and maybe being here when he got back... and it would hurt too much when she had to leave again.

"'S ok. I should get to work. Working extra hours to help out Sean. There have been some problems with the store."

Problems that she was starting to fix... when she wasn't on the beach with her dark grimoire.

He frowned. "What kind of problems?"

"Cabal trouble," she said reluctantly. "The Nasts were sticking their noses in and trying to screw with Sean."

"What's he need from me?" Because no matter what, Johnny considered them family.

She let out a breath. "Well, I've threatened the suppliers and the shipping company, but if Bryce--" She swallowed hard. "If Bryce keeps this up, someone may have to pay a visit to him and convince him that he really does not want to mess with my brother's business."

It didn't matter to her that Bryce was blood since he had made it known what he wanted to happen to her.

"I can do that," he said firmly.

"Thanks. I know that Eve and Sean would much rather that I not go head to head with Bryce or any of the Nasts.," she said softly. "I'll know by Wednesday if they've taken my threats seriously. If not..." She shrugged.

"No, you don't need to. Just let Sean know that I'm available." He didn't mind kicking ass. In fact he rather was in the mood for it.

She didn't bristle when he said that. Quite possibly because she was tired from the run with Destiny, or from the magic she had been doing. "I'll let him know and I'm sure he'll appreciate it."

Sean would jump at anything to help -- and that would keep Savannah out of reach of his family.

She gave him a faint smile. "I... I should go." That wasn't what she was going to stay. "You're heading out and I should get to work..."

He glanced down, at his helmet tucked under his arm. "Savannah... I might go home for a few days."

Savannah swallowed hard, trying to breathe past the pain in her chest at that.

"Oh." Her voice was very soft. "S-Sue will be glad to see you, I'm sure."

He wasn't going, but he didn't know that right now.

"Been awhile since I've seen her. Thought I'd surprise her."

She nodded, unable to look at him because she was near tears.

"She'll like that."

Johnny hated seeing Savannah cry. He knew she was on the verge.

"Okay, well... uh." Destiny jumped up on his leg and he bent, scratching her behind the ears. "Hey, girl."

Savannah moved to the door.

She knew he hated seeing her cry and she was trying to get out before she could break down in front of him. When he bent down to attend to Destiny, she opened the door.

"Love you," she whispered, before hurrying out.

He looked up, stood slowly.

"Love you too..." he said to the now closed door.
