Rm 217, Wednesday night

After Johnny had stopped by to see A.J., he came back to his room and kicked off his shoes and threw himself on Savannah's bed, turning on the TV. He figured she was showering or something -- but their evening included watching a movie maybe and doing a good deal of snuggling. If Anders showed up, well, Johnny would have to shove his ass back out the door. Tonight was private time with his girl.

Though he did smirk at that thought. Shoving Anders. Could be entertaining.

After cheerleading practice and a shower, Savannah returned to the room. She was pulling the tyowel off of her head as she walked in so she could towle dry it and comb it out.

When she saw Johnny, she smiled. "Hello there."

"Hey, babe," he said. "Want me to comb your hair for you?"

She tilted her head. "Sure."

She hung up the towel and then came over and sat on the bed next to him.

Sitting up, he spread his legs and drew her back into the crook of them, taking the brush he started to carefully drag it down through her hair. "It's so thick..."

Savannah nodded. "Yeah, we used to call it the ebony curtain because it was so dark and thick."

"We?" he asked as he continued brushing.

And he knew he better tell her before she heard it on the radio. "Savannah? I kind of have something to tell you."

"Mom and I. Adam says it's my most girlie feature." She bit her lip.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't know if I would agree with Adam," Johnny said, running his fingers through it.

"I sort of paid a visit to A.J. tonight."

"How'd that go?"

"I basically told him to stay away from Annette." he said, glad that she couldn't see his face. He might feel a tad ashamed of himself for that.

Savannah was quiet for a moment. "Did it help anything?"

He sighed. "No."

Savannah leaned back against him. "The entire situation sucks."

He set the brush aside and wrapped his arms around her, bringing them both back to lay down upon the bed. "Major. It's like I kind of feel for both of them, you know?"

Savannah nodded against him. "I know. They both are hurting over this and we can't fix it."

"No, but we can try to protect them in our own special sort of way I guess." That sounded way too girly. "Dick's my bro so I got his back." There. Better.

"And Annette's my best friend, so I'll do what I can."

"I love you," he whispered into the sweetness of her neck.

She smiled. "I love you, too."

Johnny curved his body so he laid on his side and brought her against him so they were in a spoon position. "Tired sweetheart?"

Savannah nodded, curling back against him. "A little."

"Me too," he nuzzled her neck, holding her close.

"I like this," she murmured, closing her eyes.

"Mmm," he murmured and fell asleep holding his girlfriend in his arms.
