"I left the room because I had a way that could help people find others. I didn't leave the room to blatantly upset you. And last night... I left the room because you hurt me when you tied me up and left me. And you know what? Even as angry as I was, I didn't go out looking to fight any bad guys last night. I went directly to Caritas where I knew I would be safe -- even spent the night there. I didn't decide to do anything until I found out they were looking for volunteers for the rescue party this afternoon." She wasn't ready to tell him that she had made that decision after their argument at Caritas.
She looked into his face.
"I don't know what we should do, Johnny," she said softly. She hated that she had upset him in any way.
