Savannah shook her head. "If you had been there at the preserve, there is no guarantee that you would have ended up with me... and you are not allowed to feel guilty for not getting up to go with me, love. I thought I had worked it all out where I would be safe and where they couldn't get me... but they did and it's not anything you didn't do in protecting me. It was waiting for me, Johnny. " She looked up at him and tears were sliding down her face. "I missed you so much and I was so scared you hated me for getting taken... and I tried to run when it attacked, Johnny. I wasn't going to fight it."
