Rm 217, Tuesday after classes

To say that radio hadn't bothered him, was an understatement. It had really pissed him off to know that Savannah had blabbered her mouth to practically everyone. Might as well have considering who all knew now.

Whatever, he went to her karaoke class anyway and watched her perform. After that he took off. He didn't bother to go to her cheerleading practice like he normally would have. Instead he came back to the dorms, took a shower, halfway dressed, and grabbed a beer from the mini-fridge.

Parking his butt in a chair, he turned on the TV and started flipping through channels.

"I... didn't mean that the way it probably sounded," he said, knowing that, yeah, he probably did.

"What... no, you know you can talk to me. It's what I'm here for. And who else? I mean, not that it's any of my business but I do understand lonliness." Kind of.

Lana sighed again. "Lucas Scott. Just after I got back. We ended up drinking in my room and... And we decided to have a sort of friends with benefits arrangement, which is so not like me, but he - being with him was the only thing that made me less miserable - made me feel like I still belonged here."

"Then, prom night... I ended up in bed with my date... And please, just keep this between us, okay?"

He raised his brows. But hey, Johnny was no one to sit back and judge. Not at all. "Lana, things just sometimes happen. Can't go around blaming yourself constantly, you know?"

Johnny wasn't going to say a word, but he wasn't sure about the squirrels. "No, I wouldn't say anything, Lana, trust me. Who was your prom date?"

She just shook her head. "Doesn't matter. I just... I don't like who I am very much right now. I don't know what's wrong with me. It's so not the way I am."

"There's nothing wrong with you. Hell, if I were any other guy I would try to sleep with you and I'm not saying that negatively. I just mean, being drunk, with you, well... I'd try to take advantage and if you let me, I'd do it."

Quite possibly he wasn't helping matters here. Er.

"Nothing wrong with me. Right. Except that I sleep with anyone who shows me the slightest bit of attention and interest." She turned her head away trying to compose herself. "That's just who I want to be. Fandom slut. ... I used to be a good girl."

No, it really wasn't helping, but she knew he meant well.

"No. God. If anyone calls you a slut you tell me, I'll kick their ass. Everyone craves attention, Lana. Hell, before Savannah?" Pause. "Well, nevermind, but you see what I'm saying, right?"

She shook her head. "I guess I just feel so alone all the time. And usually I can deal, but when I drink... God. What was I thinking last night? And... he was gone almost before we were done."

Johnny shouldn't even suggest this but... "Do you want to stay here for a couple days? I can seperate the beds..."

Blink. Wait. What?

"He.. was almost gone?"

"I dozed off for a couple of minutes, woke up screaming with a nightmare and he was gone."

She shook her head. "I'm not sure that's the smartest move. Besides I'm not really sleeping anyway. And I need all the lights on. Wouldn't be fair."

Love 'em and leave 'em kind. Johnny's been there and done that. He wasn't sure what to say.

"Yeah, you're right."

"Anyway... It was stupid of me to leave with him. Anything could have happened and I was too drunk to have done anything."

She shook her head. "I better go. It's really not your problem, but I appreciate your listening."

"I should have stopped you. I was right there. I should have done something, Lana. I'm sorry."

"I don't think I would have listened," she admitted. "And besides, I can't count on other people to save me from myself. I have to take responsibility for my actions."

"Then what are you going to do?"

"I don't know," she said quietly. "Don't drink. Stay in my room except for class and work."

"Lana... you'll only go crazy living like that."

"So, what's your suggestion? Seriously... 'cause I'm starting to feel like I'm going crazy anyway."

"Blow it off. Seriously. Just blow it off. God, if anything sex is just sex and everyone enjoys it and likes to get it every now and then."

"So just go on getting drunk and having sex with anyone I feel like?" she asked, too tired to even try and think about why that didn't feel right.

"No, that's not exactly what I meant, sweetheart. I mean blow it off now and remember it for future reference."

She nodded, rubbing at her face again. "I suppose I can try and do that."

"Works for me," he added with a wry grin.

Sometimes it worked. It wasn't exactly working for him right now in his current state of affair with Savannah.

Suddenly something he'd said earlier struck her. "Wait... what do you mean you could take the beds apart and I could stay here? Wouldn't Savannah have a problem with that?"

Yes. Yes she would. "No, I'm sure she wouldn't."
