She looked into his eyes once more and tried to smile. The smile just didn't come.

"I love you. So much."

When he told her to go, she nodded and squeezed his hand a last time. Drawing up as much strength as she could, she forced herself to do what he requested and turn to leave. When her back was to him, she felt the first tears sliding down her cheeks.
