Room 217, Thursday before classes

Johnny was pacing back and forth, pensive and thoughtful as he considered the creatures outside. It would be easy: he could torch them. All of them. The stench might be upsetting but that was little worry if Fandom became zombie free. Seriously. He was lacking in the torching things department and zombies are dead. They'd hardly feel a thing and be nothing more than a pile of ash in seconds.

Destiny jumped up against his legs, tired of watching him move back and forth. Bending, he picked her up and gave her lovin'.

This kind of stuff, this fandom random crap, is what he worried about when he thought about graduation and leaving Savannah behind.

She nodded. "All right. I'll wait to call him until... until we see what happens." She swallowed. "If I were to call him right now, he'd call Lucas and they'd be here to get me before classes were over."

His jaw set. "And I can't have that," he said, his tone low. "Even though part of me wonders if you'd be safer with them..."

Savannah frowned at him. "Don't say that," she said quietly.

"I know, I'm sorry. It's just that bad stuff happens here and next month is graduation..." the rest went unspoken.

She stroked his cheek. "And I could be in just as much danger or probably more anywhere else."

He nodded, seeming to agree. But he felt she was safest with him.

Johnny bent head and kissed her brow. "Fandom is Fandom, right? We just have to wait it out."
